here’s what i’m up to at the moment (inspired by loads of other web pages doing the same thing)

i’ve doing more work to get this page setup more properly, finally settling into to a spot where i actually like the style of it. pretty good timing on finishing this for now as well since i’ve got both work and my studies to worry about at the moment.

also i’m gonna try to teach a friend how to make a basic website herself! i think she has a pretty good eye for style (unlike me lol) so this is probably mostly going to be about putting the ideas and designs she already has into an actual web format.

otherwise i’ve been stalling on the homelab and system config front, tho honestly i’m pretty content with my dotfiles as they are so that’s not too big of a deal. i am a bit scared of my media server becoming one of those projects that will forever be procrastinated tho, so i might just set up jellyfin today.

also ngl, i have been thinking about japanese again (and the fact that my teacher recommended i skip ahead in the course for… reasons?!?!) because of this video, and i honestly believe that immersion is by far my biggest problem with it, i don’t really have anybody i can speak to and practice the language with, and with me not being a fan of spaced repetition itself (i can keep up with reviews but only if i have something like my course to keep me on my toes) and not watching enough native content to actually mine sentences from, it’s no wonder i feel like i’m falling behind even if i technically understand things well enough. i think that i would like to just have a conversation partner because it would make the other two parts here feel like less of a chore, so maybe i’ll spend some time talking to folks or get on italki or something. not a HUGE priority atm, but something i wanna take more seriously at least.
